The top five candidates with the most votes for this year's Homecoming queen ballot were announced in an e-mail Tuesday night by Carl Bacon, director of the Ferguson Center Student Union.

Sophia Francillon, Kathleen Kelley, Michelle McGaha, Jessica Pugh and Kahdijiha Rowe were voted onto this year's Homecoming court. Homecoming queen will be announced Friday during the pep rally and will be crowned Saturday during halftime of the Homecoming game against Houston.

The SGA amendment to create student councils in each individual college was passed by a wide margin. Ninety-five percent of those who voted, or 3,912 students, were in favor of the change, and 202 students voted against it.

Zach Rolen will fill the vacant SGA Senate seat in the College of Arts and Sciences. One of the graduate school Senate vacancies was filled by Steven Corhern. Five vacancies remain in for the Graduate School as well as one vacancy for the School of Law.
