Please, please stop all consideration of bringing an elephant to campus. Think about the entire concept; the animal is forced to stand or march at a human's command while hundreds of people shout, scream, rant, run and rail against an opponent.
People will be drinking - some heavily - and you cannot prevent someone from throwing items, attempting to feed it anything from beer to candy or finding other ways to frighten or threaten her or him.
If we cannot show compassion, sympathy and kindness to such a magnificent animal, we have no business being involved with education.
Put yourselves in the elephant's place.
