Florida topped the list, giving out 24 percent of tickets for Ben Hill Griffin Stadium to students. Though the University is one of the lowest for percent of stadium allotted to students, it has the highest rank in percentage of students given a chance to purchase tickets.
Out of the approximately 23,000 students at the Capstone, 65 percent have the ability to buy tickets. The next-highest percentage is the University of Tennessee, which gives 56 percent of its students a chance to purchase tickets.
Without expansion of the student section in Bryant-Denny Stadium, however, that percentage will decrease as the Capstone expands its enrollment.
"I am always proud of the enthusiasm that Alabama students have about their football team. I know that there was some kinks in the system and I am currently working with the Athletics Department to make certain students are better served in the future," SGA president Cason Kirby said. "I would also like to say 11,000 tickets were successfully sold to students in two hours and 20 minutes. I think that proves the dedication of our students to the Crimson Tide, and I really look forward to working with the Athletics Department to getting as many as students as possible into our stadium."
Out of the six schools surveyed, the Capstone has the smallest student body and the third-largest stadium. The University of Florida, on the other hand, has the second-smallest stadium and largest student ticket allotment.
2007 National Football Champion Louisiana State University has the smallest student section out of all stadiums, only giving 13 percent of its tickets to students.

This is a story? What are you complaining about? More of the students at Bama can buy tickets than any other SEC school. Isn't that the real point here? So yes, we have a big stadium, but MORE OF THE STUDENTS AT BAMA CAN BUY TICKETS THAN ANY OTHER SEC SCHOOL. (Continued…)

As an alumni of the University, it is so sad that ALL of the student population that wants to attend the football games has that chance. This is their University, their team. (Continued…)
