Beginning next fall, the SGA's newly created Office of International Student Involvement will be striving to get the University's many international students more involved on campus.
"Basically we feel that there is a lot that we can do to help bring in international students to campus life for the benefit of the natural students," said Richard Byrd, SGA chief of staff.
Byrd said that there are no definite plans yet since the office has just been established, but it will be doing a variety of activities incorporating all facets of student life.
"The goal or the mission of the office will be to do what they feel can increase interaction for the mutual benefit of both international students and UA natural students," Byrd said.
He also said the creation of the office and its initiative is something that fits into the Kirby administration's objectives established at the beginning of the year.
"It's one of the goals of this administration to reach out to as many students as possible and we feel this is an opportunity to do so," Byrd said.
